i'm no expert, but i don't understand what takes so long. Do they start negotiations low in effort to get a lower-priced ending deal? Is it negotiating back and forth like the stupid lockout? Why not just OFFER A RESPECTABLE DEAL and go from there. Patrik, we like you, what do you want? 3 years? ok we'll give you 3 years. 5mil per? ok, you're worth that to us. Boom, signed. If we want to dance around a while, Patrik will find his 3years/5mil elsewhere, and be productive elsewhere, while we have yet ANOTHER huge void to fill.. and listen to idiots attempt to rationalize how we'll fill it and won't miss this player much and other nonsense.

If the player is interested in staying, pay him to stay.. or someone else will pay him to leave. they have to be paid either way.. so lets pay the good players that know our system to stay.

Yeah i don't understand it either, but I'm guessing agents have a lot to to with why the process takes so long.

I don't think LL cares about when it happens, to be honest. I think if he could get Clarkson locked up right now he'd happily announce it.

We dont have much of a choice. Have to bring back Elias, who can put up the points he did? Already lost Zach and Sykora last year and we couldn't score. Have to replace the scoring somehow.

LL is possibly waiting to see what Clarkson is going to do before really signing anyone else. But then again he may not be allowed to spend that much..

How long you think the Henrique and JJ deals are for? I'd say 3 or Henrique and 1-2 for JJ. 3-4 for Elias and maybe 2 years for Zubrus if they can sign him.

Whens the prospect camp does anyone know? Not like we have anyone good

stop drinking the Kool-Aid. lou lamerillo NEVER Signs his top free agents right before the free agency deadline. if lou lets a player get to free agency there gone. lou locks up the players he wants at least a year before they can leave. like zajac last year. its time for lou to take his hall of fame resume and retire, the game has past him by since the lockout.

He just giving us a little thrill ride since we didn't make the play offs he wants to give us something to get nervous and excited about. He is a smart guy that is for sure
